Nature-of-expense method with Inventory 365

The Inventory 365 app uses special enhancements to map a classic nature-of-expense method (NEM) process within the income statement. The app helps reconcile your company's current assets in the general ledger (financial accounting) and subledger (inventory accounting) with a variety of detailed features. This is ensured using modern filter techniques and additional analysis functions.

Identify differences at a glance

Inventory 365 provides you with filtering techniques that you can use as a basis for your analysis and to ask various questions. This prepares details that allow you to see at a glance whether the current inventory value in inventory accounting and your referenced accounts in financial accounting tally. If this is not the case, you can easily identify the source of the differences. This considerably simplifies the analysis process: without the app, you would first have to laboriously link the data by performing valuations outside of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central – with Excel, for example, to determine whether and where there are differences, and then perform painstaking work to find the error. So the app saves you time, money and hassle.
Thanks to the app, you can map the nature-of-expense method clearly and completely within financial accounting. For example, post inventory changes within production or make manual entries to additional accounts. Or split the account for the inventory change – for manual entries, revaluations, inventories and scrappings. Increase transparency and expand the evaluation possibilities.

Advantages of the Inventory 365 app

  • additionally make individual entries based on the origin and cause code
  • make differentiated inventory adjustment entries
  • see at a glance whether the account matches the posting groups of your item or whether there are any incorrect entries

All functions can be found in the associated application guide.

How much does the Inventory 365 app cost?

Prices are based on licensed Microsoft Dynamics Business Central users (Essential, Premium).
The total number of users determines the price scale (see package prices).
Billing takes place monthly - regardless of the agreed total duration of the subscription.

Why is the Inventory 365 app important?

Commercial users can use the app to map the nature-of-expense method without having to use external solutions.

The values of the accounts in financial accounting and the values in inventory accounting can be reconciled. Discrepancies and warnings are issued and enable further steps in the reconciliation and correction process. The application significantly shortens a time-consuming manual process. It is not possible to reconcile the inventory value with financial accounting without the app.
